One of my favorite Golf Course in Thailand is Thai Muang Golf Course. It is situated in Phangnga province in the mainland north of Phuket Island. The distance to Phuket International Airport is about 50 km, driving time by car 50 minutes on well constructed highways and crossing the strait across two bridges. |

The course stretches along the shore of Andaman Sea and is a large park with a selection of tropical trees and plants being in blossom. The course is not hilly but difficult due to the frontal and lateral water hazards belonging to every fairway. The ball may fall into water on all the fairways. Crocodiles do not disturb searching and recovery. I never saw any ones. But beware of snakes and red ants. |

In recovering a ball the caddies are a great help. They know the usually dangerous places and watch them. To be accompanied by a (usually female) caddy is obligatory. The green fee includes the caddy fee. You are not obliged to rent a golf cart. But when using it, you will agree with the caddies climbing onto the fenders. |

For surviving the struggle against the heat for 3 or 4 hours it is necessary to drink a lot. Drinks are available for a small charge at 3 huts. Clean restrooms are also available there. The equipment of the locker rooms with showers and fresh towels is on a high standard. The club restaurant withits open lobby or air conditioned rooms is on the same level. |

On your way home, direction Phuket, just after passing Sarazin Bridge, have a break for some minutes. Wat Tha Chat Chai is worth a visit. It is a stupendously rich wat in a small fishing village. |
