The west coast of Phuket Island with its famous beaches is well-known to most farangs. But not the east coast! Take your time to explore it! At Bang Rong Pier at the east coast try to rent a longtail boat with a skipper for about 5 hours. The price should be not higher than 2.500 Baht + a tip. |

Your aim should be Khai (Egg) Island via Laem Hin with a break there for lunch at a floating restaurant. |

Khai Island has no inhabitants. But at day time a lot of merchants, bar keepers and beach chair lenders care about the farangs. You must not suffer any lack of drinks or food or beach necessities. |

The beach is clean, the water clear and shallow. Just at the shoreline you can start watching corals, fish and crabs. It would be a good idea to wear beach sandals to avoid being hurt by sharp-edged corals. Khai Island is an ideal place for those of you who want to introduce children in the technique of snorkeling. |
