We introduce an excursion with high experience and sentimental value: The discovery of caves and lagoons in Phangngaa Bay by a paddle boat.

With this excursion you must not organise anything yourselves, however, you have no influence on the course of the day. The organizer cares about everything.

* In the morning you will be picked up at your lodging;
* driven to the waiting ship at Ao Po Pier;
* shipped northbound in Phangngaa Bay;
* brought back in the evening.

The journey starts for discovering the first cave! The boatswain knows the way, speaks English sufficiently. At the next suitable opportunity he hands you a pocket lamp. Here your role rather passive till now becomes an active one. You must figure the illuminator and help the boatswain in his difficult activity to find the right way through the darkness and not to injure the boat and your head. The boat might be the collision partner more capable of opposition in such a situation.

At every tunnel end light comes back, and thus you too will reach the daylight after some minutes of darkness, this time, however, in an unusual environment. You are inside of a rock kettle whose walls rise 100 metres estimated. They are tropical-excessively covered. Some animal can be spotted, a challenge for the photographer. With some luck you even see monkeys. How they found the way there, my imagination cannot paint.

A lot of such rock kettles ("hong" in Thai) exist in Phangngaa Bay. On our excursion on the 16th of November, 2008 the responsible tour guide selected two excursions before and another one after lunch aboard. The offer varies according to tidal state and visitors' density.

Other organizers too than the one selected by us (SeaCanoe) are active in the market and can be found on the Internet. Our aim is to give information about event possibilities around our ECO Guesthouse and not to urge you to book at a preselected organizer.

However, the motto is valid: "If you were discontented, say it please me. If you were contented, say it please others."
